China is building numerous large data centers to keep up with a growing population and increased business activity, reports CIO. It appears the country is building dozens of large data centers to support the needs of its people.
This expansion means also good opportunities for ups vendors. Stable growth is expected in the country’s UPS market during the next five years. According to many reports, the 40-60kVA UPS still takes up the largest share in the total sales revenue of the market. But in the next years, UPS will evolve toward higher availability, safety, and integrated, intelligent and green functions.
For example, in December, The Green Grid announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), a non-profit established by enterprises and institutes in China working to develop and establish national communications standards and efficient data center practices.
Under these circumstances China is not only a key market for future growth in the data center industry. It is also developing very quickly into an huge market for energy-efficient UPS.
